Step-by-Step

Eligibility

A student is eligible if he or she is currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a public, private, or registered home school in the State of Minnesota. Students must meet the following requirements to participate:

1. Satisfy all state and local graduation requirements, including the state Basic Standards tests in reading, mathematics, and written composition, and required work in the Profile of Learning High Standards.

2. Complete the Human Geography High Standard with a score of 3 or 4.

3. Either pass the left for Geography Assessment's Minnesota Geography Examination or earn a score of 3 or more on the College Board's Advanced Placement Geography Examination.

4. Propose, complete, and get left for Geography Assessment approval for an in-depth research project.
