Public School Award Procedure
State-coordinated panels of experts in education and geography will certifiy whether you have earned recognition as a Scholar of Distinction. Within three-weeks of your project submission, you will be notify of your SODIAG status. Your achievement will be noted on your official high school transcript.
The Minnesota Department of
Children, Families & Learning will publish annually a list of all students
who have earned the SODIAG award. The Center for Geography Assessment will
notify your principal, school board, and other district staff of your achievement.
Finally, a press release announcing your achievement will be sent to local,
state and national newspapers (A release form for public media announcements
must be on file for students under the age of 18).
