This is a great, all around site which is one of the "must start here" points for Geography. Lots of articles and links related to the science and profession of geography and many other geography topics. Well worth your trip here--the topic you are looking for will most likely be covered in the frame at the left or by following links in the middle of the page.
Look here second! Virtual Geography Department Project

This site from the University of Texas provides an outstanding overview of urban geography. The site is part of a virtual course, so there are a lot of graphs and visuals, also some interactive applications. Make this site one of the two "must visit" sites to start your research! Topics include course outline, materials, lists of resources on many major ideas in this section of the AP Human Geography course.

Ameristat- U.S. Population Data

This is the one stop source for population data about the Americas. Updated frequently. Has list of active topics (some not yet up) to click. Graphic population information. This site is still under construction but topics such as families, education, income, and race are ready to be used. The graphics make the site appealing.

United Nations population information site. Links to other countries. Extensive information.

United Nations "World Population Prospects: The 1998 Revision. This URL will take you right to a handfull of nice charts and tables with text description about population projection at the world level.

Large database of population information and statistics. A great site to research. Can run slow due to its size. A wealth of information. Clickable world map, list of key topics.
Population Analysis
This is a great site for finding the population research centers around the country. This is the Center for Studies in Demography and densities Ecology--University of Washington.

This is part of Stephen Adebonís course. It has a table of clickable buttons which lead to information about population geography.

A site in the Netherlands that contains updated information on world population, by country, region, and world. A great site with lots of options and charts and graphs of information. Includes top 25 cities in world population.
World POPClock Projection
This site is a population clock of the United States. You can watch the population grow as you teach. Contains links to other population clocks as well as other sub topic links.

Global Population Data Sets
Has Asia, Africa, and Global Population Database which includes boundary and population data by region/country, discussion of data sources, population projections and data quality, and raster data. Produces a population density map for each region.

A Population Education Tool from the UNFPA
A promotional web site for DemoGraphics '96, a graphical database which can be used to display population trends for all countries worldwide between 1950 and 2050 in animated charts and maps. Among many other types of charts the software includes "moving" age pyramids that show population change unfold over a 100-year period.
Life Expectancy by Sex
This animated line graph shows the changing nature of life expectancy for the U.S.A. from 1900 to 1990. Excellent graphic.

This site provides text and graphics of recent tornadoes. A description of tornadic activity, a link out to other tornado sites, and a list of the 10 worst tornadoes may all be found here. This page is updated periodically and may not always contain the same information.
Tsunami!
Tsunami! is a World-Wide Web site that has been developed to provide general information about tsunamis. It contains extensive background information that is intended primarily for the general public, including information about the mechanisms of tsunami generation and propagation, the impact of tsunamis on humankind, and the Tsunami Warning System. This site also contains more detailed information about recent tsunami events that will be of interest to tsunami and interdisciplinary researchers.
Typhoon Paka Summary
Typhoon Paka was a super typhoon which took place in November of 1997. This site examines many aspects of the disaster it caused by using satellite photographs and other data. This page is useful for developing generalizations about typhoons. The site is created and maintained by the Naval Pacific Meteorology and Oceanography Center West.
Volcano Watch
This site shows satellite views of the ten most active volcanoes in the world.
Volcano World
A very nicely done page from the University of North Dakota with a wide variety of information about volcanic activities and responses. Mount Helena is included at this site.
World Disaster Relief
This page keeps track of the disasters in the world and the responses to them. The viewer may select current disaster stores, stories within the last 30 days, or any disaster story ever written. Stories may also be selected by type of disaster.
